Heart Preservation Workshop

Saturday 10th October from 3:30 pm

A four hour wet specimen workshop at the Dissenters’ Chapel in Kensal Green Cemetery teaching the techniques used to preserve human specimens in pathology collections. A Curious Invitation will guide you through the latest methods as you learn to 'pot' a fixed animal heart.  This is a beginners' course with no experience required and your preserved heart will be yours to keep as a souvenir of the occasion.

Included is a brief history of previous preservation techniques perfected by masters such as Frederik Ruysch and John Hunter, accompanied by a spectacularly illustrated talk, a Hendrick’s Gin Cocktail, and all materials used - including a beautiful Curious Invitation tote bag to carry your precious pot home in.
