London Month of the Dead

Throughout October 2015, join The Real Tuesday Weld and a host of speakers, performers and guides for LONDON MONTH OF THE DEAD  - our annual series of events investigating London’s relationship with its deceased residents.

Visit lost burial grounds, secret crypts, a charnel house, Hyde Park’s pet cemetery, the Museum of London’s bone archive and other spaces off limits to the public.  Experience taxidermy workshops, walks and death salons with extraordinary speakers in two of the capital’s Great Gardens of Sleep, Brompton and Kensal Green Cemeteries. What is the atheist vision of the afterlife?  What happens to your body if leave it to medical science? What is a day in the life of a coroner like? Join AC Grayling, Marina Warner, Gavin Stamp, the ‘Sherlock Holmes of Bone’, an expert of decomposition, the keeper of the Elephant Man’s skeleton a transplant surgeon, a forensic analyst and a host of others for answers and for stories of those who have gone before.

And enjoy a special intimate concert in the gorgeous surrounds of Brompton Cemetery Chapel with The Real Tuesday Weld singing a set of their Songs of Love and Death.
